All our garments have a label corresponding to their specific care, but at UNNA we have started from the idea that garments are made to last and accompany you over the years whether you wear them or not. For us, this is a basic principle of sustainability and love for what we do. That is why we want to give you some tips that will help you keep them in an optimal condition that will be useful for all your garments:

Washing temperature : we recommend not washing at more than 20 degrees and only when absolutely necessary. Cold washes are just as effective and do not damage the fabrics.

Spin speed : ideally, whenever possible, you should not spin, but if you have to do so, you don't need to do it at more than 800 revolutions.

Fabric softeners : ration their use or, better yet, stop using them.

Hand washing : clothes should not be soaked because natural fibres suffer. When you hand wash and wring clothes to remove excess water, you are twisting the fibres so much that you will end up breaking them. The best thing for more delicate garments is to use the specific washing programme on your washing machine. Wash inside out whenever possible, especially dark garments.

Dryer : This is a great enemy of natural fibres, favouring excessive shrinkage when used at high temperatures to finish quickly. Woollen garments should never be dried in a dryer. The ideal for all knitted garments is to remove excess moisture by wrapping them in a towel first and laying them flat so that they do not become deformed by their own pressure afterwards.

Ironing : Setting the temperature higher than indicated will not give you a better result without damaging the fabric, as each fabric has a specific tolerance to heat. Even if you don't burn it, you can leave a permanent mark. A good option is to iron inside out, especially dark garments. It is always better to start ironing with the garments that require the lowest temperature and gradually increase it depending on the characteristics of the other garments. If you iron the garments while they are still slightly damp, it will be easier to remove wrinkles.

Bleach : This product is for a very specific use, not for any stain. If used improperly, it will irreversibly affect the garment, both the color and the fabric.

Using creams and perfumes : you should keep in mind that certain products can stain your clothes due to their ingredients. It is best to let them absorb well into your skin before getting dressed.

Storage : Fabrics are sensitive to sunlight and moisture. When you want to store a garment for a long time: 1. Wash it, making sure that there are no stains left on it, and let it dry thoroughly. 2. Iron it so that the wrinkles from the washing process do not become “tattooed” on the garment and are then impossible to remove. 3. Store it in the space you have reserved for this purpose. It is advisable to store it in non-woven bags designed for this purpose, as they not only have a lot of capacity, but also protect the garments from dust. If you have white and delicate garments, it is advisable to wrap them in tissue paper to store them.
